  2. I have it, I bought it more than a year ago. I dont care much for it. The picture quality really sucks. It comes out scratchy for me. And the capture setting in the software are bad. AVI only no mpeg. And the avi is like huffy,RGB, or VCR1. All are huge and bad quality. You are better using virtual dub with it. It gave me alot of drivers issues, after installing it, about 1 out of 3 bootups give me a blue screen! And while working it tends to give me blue screens as well. ATi is well known forjacked up drivers.

I'm not a real fan of Dazzle either. The DVC2 I bought gave me install nightmares, and I had to take it back and lost 50.00 on it.

I would suggest seeing if there is a driver update, I wouldnt know because my card is sitting in my drawer not machine. And use virtual dub to capture, not the ATI multimedia software.

  5. I have the ve. I have the vcr hooked to it with the composite cable and the tv antenna. what I see on my tv sceen I see on the computer. I have recorded using the software that came with it and saved as a mpeg and then made a vcd direct from that.

  6. Capturing with this card from VCR, I am able to produce video that
looks as good as source VHS tape (at least, I do not see difference when
I play produced video back on my TV).

So, on my opinion, the card itself is good, but software/drivers are bad.
To achive good quality with this card, but you need right third-party
software/driver combination. The required software/driver combination
depends on your PC configuration and target you want to produce (VCD,
SVCD, DVD, video to put on web).

  7. Use powervcr with it. Wonderful, but powervcr costs a pretty penny. I encourage you to get a better card or search for a full version of powervcr.

  8. You can get a legal version of PowerVCR on eBay for about $30, instead of the $120 on their web site. (I haven't tried it with my ATI TV Wonder VE yet, because it hasn't come yet, but I'll report back...)

  9. Has anyone here thought about updating the drivers?
Cause at Ati's site the new drivers for that card comes with better capturing software, you CAN save your video to MPEG1 and MPEG2.

I feel its the BEST TV capture card for price (after updating the drivers at Ati's Site)

    Good Value, Great Preformance!

    I highly recommend it!

  10. ok.. I figured it out, after doing some major research. ATI software sucks like everyone told me... find out its incompatible with my motherboard...

So I did find a copy of PowerVCR... and it is pretty good... I guess its not the card its what software you use that counts...; )

Recommend: PowerVCR if you got a cheap capture card like I do... I got PowerVCR, the cost of PowerVCR... a few searches (aprox: 5 min) keke...

    Thanx for the help everyone
