Hi...
I have a Canon ip6700D printer on a networked WindowsXp computer that I would like to print to from Mepis. I searched openprinting.org/ and it pointed me to a Canon ftp site which did in deed have the drivers. But they are in rpm format...
I've used these drivers before when I was running OpeningSuse 10.3 to print to this printer and under Suse they worked very well...
Using alien I tried to convert them from rpm to deb. And they do install. However when I send a test print or print via KWrite nothing happens.
I googled for solutions and found Turboprint and it works. But the free version prints a large logo on the bottom of your page. The purchase price is 30 Euros. But I'm not prepared to start paying for drivers....
