I upgraded one of my four computers from a Socket A mobo to a newer AM2 mobo. The newer mobo only has one ide channel and two SATA ports. I have 3 IDE hard drives and one DVD-Rw/+Rw burner...
I know I can purchase a pci IDE card as I already have two of them by Promise in two other computers. But I would prefer to use an IDE to SATA adapter. I've seen them listed but I was wondering if there are any issues with them?
Thanks kindly...

instead of using a IDE to SATA adapter buy a PCI CONTROLLER CARD for your hard drives. or buy a PCI CONTROLLER CARD w/the SILICON IMAGE CHIPSET for your dvd burner. PROMISE CHIPSET's will not work crorrectly with DVD BURNERS. just my 2 cents!

Sorry...but as I mentioned in my first post, I know about pci ATA controller cards... As I said I already have two...
I'm asking about ide to sata adapters. That is what I'm asking.

www.newegg.com
you'll have to read the reviews and get one that specifically works with optical drives -
