    Hello,

I am trying to make an audio dvd to play in my hddvd player so I get the best quality reproduction. I was using Audio DVD Creator and it was perfect for what I need to do, I believe it was making a PCM 48khz 24bit audio dvd. I had WAV files and some mp3 files however it was only a trial version and would only do 5 songs. Does anyone know any free software that will give me this quality?

What is the point of making a 24-bit/48kHz disc from MP3 files? The quality won't improve. And why do you need to play them on an HD-DVD player? A standard DVD player will play 24-bit/48kHz or even 96kHz discs for much less money.

In other words, unless you have original source files which are higher quality than original music CD's, there is no point in wasting your time creating "high quality" recordings with special software. Just use the regular audio CD portion of Nero/Roxio or whatever. Just taking the average mp3 file and converting it to a higher bitrate "higher quality" format, won't increase the quality or make it sound better.

Sorry you misunderstood, I have FLAC files that were decoded into WAV files. I only have 2 or 3 mp3 files in this CD i'm making and my goal is not to improve their quality. I only want the best reproduction from the WAV files and as for the HDDVD player I already have one so I would naturally use that instead of a dvd player. Does anyone know free software that can create me a high quality cd for these WAV files?

The question then is what is the source of the FLAC files? If they are audio CD rips for instance, then as stated above, just put them back into audio CD format.

Ya but if I make an audio dvd then I can have alot of songs with high quality on 1 disc instead of multiple discs. Right now I have about 2gb worth of wav files and to make a cd it would take a few cd's. I have a program for cd's called Burrrn however it will not make audio dvd's, I just need a free program that can do that.

  7. Just make a DVD-MP3,more players support DVD-MP3 than DVD-Audio.
AFAIK there are no free DVD-Audio or SACD authoring programs.

I did my test/personal "DVD containing almost only audio".. ...with TMPGEnc Plus. PCM audio (some mpeg too for experiment) with black screen super low video bitrate....and authored with TDA.
Was quite a bit of work but once you get a "system" down is goes pretty easily.
