I have sony vegas movie studio platinum 8.0. Which is completely new to me.

I have four 42” flat that I will be broadcasting on. Resolution is 848x480.

The problem I’m having is taking the b roll footage and getting it to cover that area. I get a boarder on the left and right side. This continue to happen after going into the properties changing the project size to 848x480.

    Any suggestions?

What are you playing back from ?

848 x 480 is effectively the resolution of 16:9 NTSC DVD on playback. If yu source aspect ratio is less than 1.778 : 1 then you will have to resize or crop to get rid of pillarboxing.

What is your source footage ? Is it 16:9 or 4:3 ?

i believe i got it. not sure which is the best yet.
one is using the track motion to zoom in. another option is to un-check the Maintain aspect ratio, that or or changing the alpha channel to 1.2121 (video properties)

How you do it correctly is determined by your source footage and your output needs.

    chidoug -- hint

Normally you aquire and render to 720x480 DVD whether 4:3 or 16:9.

Then, when you play back the TV scales to 848x480 if that is your TV's native resolution.
