    hello

I use VLC, but there is something very annoying about it

when I click on the progress bar to go to another point of the movie, it brus the image and it doesn't go immediately to the specified point

is there another player that can handle this properly?

    especialy with wmv files

I also want this player to play all the files that vlc does

    thanks

  2. In VLC go to Settings -> Preferences, select Video in the left pane, then enable Advanced Options in the lower right hand corner. Uncheck the Skip Frames option. Press Save and close the player. I think that will fix your issue.

Another player you can try is KMPlayer.

Sounds like the files aren't properly indexed. I don't have any problems searching with VLC or Zoom player with wmv files.

yeap, that must be the cause

it happens with specific wmv files only (some old ones)

by the way, FYI, unchecking the "Skip Frames" option in VLC, doesn't fix the problem

    thanks for your replies

You could run the problem wmv's through ASFTools and do a basic repair, which should fix your problem without re-encoding the files.
