ok, i have just searched and read and searched and read, and couldn't find anything for my problem.
i have followed the SuperEasyNewbieMacDVD>VCDGuide
when i go to decode the .m2v file in MM2D and hit start, the top and bottom of the screen on the preview looks all corrupted. the movie still converts, but with these copy protected looking bars on the top and bottom. anyway to get rid of these???
i was also wondering if there was anyway to create a svcd using the same programs in the guide i have?
thanks for the help in advance

What software did you use to decrypt the DVD? What is the URL to the guide you mentioned? I'd like to read it.

i used DVDExtractor from this tutorial
http://forum.vcdhelp.com/userguides/83368.php
it seemed pretty straight forward but maybe i missed something
thanks again for the help

I have since written another guide using a different ripper because I found that sometimes it adds junk to the files. Try using yade as the ripper instead of DVD Extractor.

i don't know if this matters but i can view the m2v file and there is no junk in it. the junk shows up when i try to convert it.
i will try to get and try yade.
thanks
