Im new to this forum and i know this topic has been covered numerous times although i tried searching the forum i could not find an answer specific to my problem.

I am using Adobe Premiere pro, Audition and Encore. I am trying to make a 5.1 Music video

I have made the multi-track session in audition exported it as a single wave file and 6 mono channel files during playback in Audition and Premiere Pro the song track sounds fine. However when i encode using 5.1 codec (either Surcode or Besweet) i get an unwanted echo in just the song track once its burned to a dvd. I did read in one of my searches that this is due because its processed and processed and the echo is the after effect.

Is there setting in either the codec (Surcode or Besweet) or my software Premiere pro/Audition that can address this problem? I have been able to minimize the echo effect by forcing the song track to be coming from just below the center channel in the Multichannel editor however if your sitting near the rear speakers you can still tell there is a slight echo.

thanks in advance. btw this is my first attempt at making a 5.1 so i am a little new to the process.

can't be done. no way to make 5.1 from stereo sound like 6 channels of mono input. artificially creating 4 channels with always sound like crap.

fair enough, i forced the track with the stereo song just to the center speaker. No echo, however its not really the desired effect. I wanted the song to be in at least stereo. How does hollywood create a 5.1 audio track with a stereo song in it and not make it echo?

Hoping to find out, getting tired of wasting dvd's on each attempt lol.

    #1-Use RW discs

#2-HOLLYWOOD either uses "5.1" surround songs, or leaves the "stereo" songs in the usual L+R channels, and leaves the other stems (Dialog + FX) to fill their part in the 5.1 mix.
