I just want to make a video of just the lyrics of a song, and add the song. How would i go about doing it? Which software would i use? I want the song lyrics to display in the video in synch with the music. It would remind one of the old time bouncing ball where it would bounce on the words as the music played, so you knew the timing of the singing.

    thanks!

Using Sony Movie Studio, for instance, you can use a transparent text layer (the top layer) a second layer (I used a blue solid) and in the voice layer I added the music. Using the text layer I synched each set of words to the music (this can be done by moving it in the time line).

hi! Can you give me a little tutorial on how to do all that? I've never used Sony Movie Studio, but i did download and install it. I read some of the help file, and it says i can use the roll credits generator, which is kinda what i wanna do. It says you can use a word processor to add the credits by pasting them in the roll credits generator, but i tried and it simply won't allow me to add the lyrics, unless i'm doing something wrong. Or i can do your method. Just lemme know what to do and i probably will be able to figure things out.

    thanks!

For simplicity's sake, use explorer to navigate to the location of the song you are looking for click and drag into the voice layer, click "media generators" and click "solid color" and find a solid color you like and click and drag it into the video overlay layer, under "media gererators" chose "text", the choose "default text" and drag it into the "text" layer, a box with text will pop up and change the size to something like 18, and then write whatever lyric you want, once you have done this move it in the timeline to where the lyric is sung so they start at the same time. Having done this pause where the lyric stops, go to the right of the generated text media so that your cursor turns into a double arrow, click and slide the side to where you paused the tracker in the timeline. All you'd need to do is repeat this until it is completed. There are a few teaching features "help" -> "show me how?".

I just created a short tutorial and uploading to youtube, you'll see it's absurdly simple. I'll add a link when it's finished uploading/processing.

I appreciate your help! I'll go to YT and check it out. Earlier, i tried to do the lyrics thing with Windows Media Player 11. OMG it is so buggy, that program!!! It kept deleting the time signatures whenever i'd input them. I kept having to redo things. That is a horrible program and i'm surprised more people aren't pissing and moaning about it.
