    I have it, I use it, but am only sometimes happy with the results. What is better to use? Final Cut Pro?

    It all depends on what you are wanting to do. For encoding it is so freaking slow.

    I'm looking to encode to MPEG-2. I know M.Pack can do this, but it is an OS 9 app and I'd like to encode in OS X. Also, I know Quicktime Pro can do this, but I have a G3 iMac, and the MPEG-2 encoder that comes with DVD Studio Pro wants "Altivec support" which I assume requires a G4 chip. Are there any other MPEG-2 encoders for OS X out there that doesn't require Altivec support? ... Or, is there a way to get around the need for Altivec support for a G3 iMac?
