    Gang,

I need your help. I recorded a *.ts program via OTA with my DVICO FusionHDTV 5 USB. I can play complete recording back without any problems, but when I try to edit or anything it hangs whatever piece of application I use.

I tried to edit out commercials using Womble MPEG Video Wizard and VideoRedo Plus, but both hung at the same point in the file. I tried demuxing with DGIndex which created the project file without a problem, but the audio was cut off at the same point the previous video editors were.

I tried fixing the *.ts stream with VideoRedo Plus, MPEG2Repair and Project X, but all could not fix the 5.1 Dolby audio stream.

Is there a piece of software available that can fix and extract this audio file, so that I can then edit as I like?

    Thanks.

    Try demuxing with xport.exe http://www.w6rz.net/xport.zip

    Syntax xport FILENAME.TS 1 1 1

The resulting .mpa is actually an ac3 - run it through AC3Fix

There may be something wrong with your TS file. Note that both MPEGVCR (and presumably their Video Wizard product) and VideoReDo have an option in the menus to fix stream problems. You might try that and then see if the resulting file can be demuxed.

I tried that with VideoRedo, but it got hung on the problem spot of the file and gave an error message that file couldnt be completed ......yada yada yada. I dont think I tried stream fix with MPEG Video Wizard and not sure if it offers this utility, but if it does, I am not going to hold my breath that it will work either.

That's going to be tough to fix, especially since ProjectX didn't co-operate. ProjectX only performs fixes during the demux process, so you might want to try that if you haven't.

Holy moly!!!!!! I tried MPEG Streamclip first and it worked. What I did was open the problem file and just saved as a new TS file. I checked the new TS file in Videoredo to see if it was performing normally. VideoRedo opened and edited the file without any problems.

Thanks to you guys for the help.
