It might be a region lock issue. NTSC is supposed to play on pal from everything I've read here.

Try using a dvd ripper like dvd decrypter or a newer one like ripit4me or dvdfabdecrypter. Then burn it to a new disc without converting it. If it plays the burnt copy then it was a region lock issue.

    good luck.

If that isn't it than you might have to try the ntsc to pal conversion. Do a forum search and you'll find tons of information on how to do it.

This is the post's i found i was thinking of using:

How to convert a PAL DVD to a NTSC DVD using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5x

As i have TMPGEnc Plus 2.5

But does that convert the whole dvd to pal or just the movie section? because i want the menu, bonus featues and deleted scenes to work...

That guide is how to convert a PAL DVD to NTSC and not the other way round as you want to do. Very few US NTSC DVD players will play PAL discs, whereas ALL European PAL DVD players will play NTSC discs. The problem you have has nothing to do with the format but the Region Coding. If the disc was bought in the US, it will be Region 1, your player will be Region 2.

You need to either make you player multi-region by using a hack if one is available (so it ignores the region coding) or, as has been suggested, make a region free copy of the disc. Simply use DVD Decrypter, or DVD Fabdecrypter to copy it and it WILL play.

  7. almost impossible to convert between NTSC and PAL and keep menus. Plus converting will reduce the quality.

You're getting that error because you are starting a PAL project in TDA and trying to import NTSC video

Why are you using TDA for anyway ?? unless you are trying to reauthor the disc with new menus, cut things out, ect. You don't need to use TDA.

If you just try what Yoda said, rip the original with DVDFab HD Decrypter, the files on your PC are now region free, burn back to dvdr with ImgBurn, the final dvd r will now be "region free" although still NTSC format and 99.9% will play on PAL equipment.

If it is too large to fit on a single layer dvdr, either run through DVD Shrink or burn back to a DL dvd+r.

Very simple, 2-3 steps at the most!!
