    I just checked my credit card website and the pending charge for the tapes has gone away, so I guess the order has been cancelled. The Sony site still has my order posted but there has been no change made since it first showed up. My guess is we ain't gonna get the tapes at the "special" pricing. Bummer - wish I wasn't locked into using that particular tape in my camcorder - been using that tape since I bought it.

  3. I'd almost forgotten I'd ordered these (May 25), and was just checking my CC statement and no charge from Sony. So I checked my order status today (June 6) and, like the rest of you, it's "In Progress."

    I can understand they somebody screwed up major somewhere on Sony's end, so I'm not all that torqued that they had a misprint and don't wanna lose $$$ on the deal, but it's been two weeks and they haven't even sent a note saying, "Sorry, there was an error with your order?"

    Not that I ever buy Sony stuff anyway, but it's nice to see that the company truly is not interested in my business!

    My order is still "pending". I tried emailing without response, and have yet to remember or the time to call. Let us know what they say. I've written this off; just received a couple of 5 packs from amazon for my upcoming trip.

    I hope these sony tapes are better than the 6 pack of TDKs I just finished. The last one had a bad section that recorded terribly and messed up my camcorder!

    no, but they haven't cancelled it. listed as - "Pending remote fulfillment" like sony doesn't have any tape in stock!

    i don't really expect to ever see them though.

    I got an order confirmation. To me that means they need to ship. Where are our Cyber Lawyers? heh.

    Why generate bad will with those most likely to allocate most disposable income to video products? Who hasn't been ripped off by Sony in the past?

    I'll give one example. Charging "flat rate" $179 to remove a stuck rental Laserdisc from a 13mo old (out of warranty) MDP-333 Laser Disc Player. Sony, do you think we forget this treatment? --- Sony Factory Service Center, River Oaks Parkway, San Jose, CA.

    If they don't fulfill this order, expect more bad Sony experiences in my address signoff. I think Google will put them on the first page. I'm ambivalent to Sony but it won't take much to put me on the dark side.

    At least, from what I read, Best Buy and Dell, honored the purchases even though they goofed on their prices.

Same here, ordered May 25 nothing yet, it showed "Pending charge" on my credit card from June 16 removed on the 19, still shows "In Progress" I have called twice, they don't know, the last time June 14, they said they will answer in 24 to 48 hours, still waiting, if they are not going to honor the price and free shiping, at least contact the customer. Sony Customer service Sucks big time.

    For everyone of you that got or will get screwed by this, I must say it makes me very happy. After all of the negative reports on this forum about the duplicitous carry-on by Sony, if anyone patronizes any Sony product for any reason, I hope you get burned - bad! Stay away from Sony. If you hang out with the devil, don't wonder why you smell like sulfur!

    You're kidding, right?

    Over the years, I have purchased 4 Sony camcorders, a digital camera, two CRT TVs, one HDTV, a receiver and subwoofer, my son has Playstation 1 to 3 and various Sony accessories. I have some regrets/complaints in at least one purchase. Now I am beginning to grow horns and tail so I have to find a huge fork. If I catch you using any Sony-branded product and you go to hell, I'll put you in a freezer!

    I'm not kidding; I'm just trying to emphasize a point. Sony's undue shenanigans all under the banner of "copy protection", including their rootkit stunt as well as their WAAAYYY overboard attacks on the market with their hyper aggressive attacks on any kind of Fair Use are way over the top. I will not buy any Sony products. This is the only way to put a crimp on this stuff. Good product; bad product, it doesn't matter. No thank you. I will not subsidize Sony with even a dime of my money. Just do a search on this forum for "Sony" and soak it all in.

    I'm sorry about the headaches this has caused for those who've made orders. I can't believe how sonystyle is dealing with this; they no longer respond to my emails (they did on my first within a few hours). I've asked politely more than once if my order was cancelled or being honored with no avail...what's their problem? I thought this was a reputable online business! Now I know better.

    Certainly not your fault my friend. You were just trying to be helpful - much more than we can say for Sony. My story - two questions to Sony Customer Care - two questions ignored. They are not even listed in the Past Questions section. If I hadn't been using those very tapes in my Canon camcorder since I bought it a couple of years ago I also wouldn't be ever buying Sony products.
