  1. Hi,

    I'm a long-time user of ffmpegX. I've downloaded the latest version (x r2) and installed it in /Applications/ffmpegX .
    I have a G4 iMac running OS X.3.9.
My previous ffmpegX version was 0.0.9t r4.

When I launch ffmpegX, it asks for the binaries. So I've downloaded mpeg2enc.intel (universal) and ffmpegXbinaries20060307.zip from the stated locations. I've installed them all with my admin password.

But then ffmpegX doesn't recognize any video file (it keeps displaying "no video" and "no audio", no matter what I throw at it) !

So I Quit / Relaunch, then I see that the mpeg2enc.intel file seems to have been correctly installed (ffmpegX doesn't ask for it anymore) but that the ffmpegXbinaries20060307.zip doesn't seem to have been installed (ffmpegX keeps asking for it for both mencoder and mplayer).

Thinking that the file was corrupt, I've re-downloaded it. With the same results.

I've also completely uninstalled ffmpegX (trashing the Application Support/ffmpegX folder and all the prefs), then re-installed it. Same thing.

Maybe the ffmpegXbinaries20060307.zip file is really corrupt at the official site ? In that cas I'd appreciate an alternate download link.
Maybe it's something else, but what ?

Can somebody please help me ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Jose

  2. All right, all right, I've found it myself.

Maybe it should be stated somewhere that you have to actually UNZIP the ffmpegXbinaries20060307.zip file before doing anything with it. It's not clearly stated IMHO...

    Everything seems to work now.
