    i suspect that this isn't possible at all, but just thought i'd ask just in case it is: is it possible to resume conversion of a file after the conversion was stopped (e.g. by crashed computer) from where ffmpegx had got to, rather than just starting again?

    I don't think it's possible either. Not with ffmpegX, nor any of the used command line utilities.
