When I try to mux a Mac MPEG2 file (m2v extension) and Aiff file I continue to get a failed build. A portion of my file is muxed to MPEG2 (about 5-10 seconds) and looks and sounds great. I went back into FCP and then rexported my files through Compressor and keep on running into the same problems. I have played with the bitrates and haven't seen a solution. Anyone else run into this problem and know how to fix it?

If you're trying to create a DVD-compliant result, then one thing to check is whether that PCM audio stream has the correct sampling rate of 48kHz. If your AIFF is sampled at 44.1kHz, and you have not performed a sample-rate conversion, some problems can arise.

My sample rate is 48kHZ on the AIFF file so that's not the problem. The error message I get right after it drops the MUX is that I have too many dropeed frames. My frame rates for encodes matches (29.97) so I'm still not sure what the problem is. Any thoughts?

ffmpegX doesn't really mux m2v and pcm audio (aiff or wav); If you tell it to mux these files, it will convert the audio to mp2 before muxing.

That would be fine. As long as the audio is embedded in a system/transport MPEG2 file I would be good to go. Do I need to convert the audio to MP2 before muxing it with the M2V file for it to work?
