I've seen examples of a old footage or video tape that was in SD and put into HD format. I'm wondering if it's in the capture process that this happens. If I have, for example, a VHS tape of footage and transfer it to MiniDV. Could I capture this into HD? Or would I need an HD camera to capture SD footage to HD? OR Does Cinema Tools make SD footage HD?

You can upconvert it using software converters. But I would just make it as SD and let dvd players upconvert instead.
