Is it possible to remux an AC3 audio track into an existing VOB without first demuxing the VOB into all it's component parts? For instance, VOBedit can perform a similar function, remuxing a M2V file back into an existing VOB.
If so, what program is able to do it and could anyone give instructions?
I'm asking because I converted a Linear PCM Audio track of a large menu VOB into an AC3 audio track and would like to remux it back into the original VOB, albeit with the PCM audio stripped out, to preserve the buttons of the menu.
I was otherwise able to convert all other VTS's using VOBedit, TMPGenc Sound Player and IFOedit, as I simply demuxed all the component parts. However, that process didn't work for the menu because it screwed up the buttons.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: I just realized this question should perhaps be in the DVD Authoring section. Could a moderator move it? Thanks.

The process described in this guide
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic275603.html
will enable you to generate new VOB files, but the menus will still work. Trust me, I have done this many times to add English subtitles to foreign DVDs and the menus always work just as they did on the original DVD. You don't need to add subtitles obviously, but just change the audio file to your new one and follow the procedure as much as it applies to what you want to do (you can skip the subtitle stuff if you want) and you'll be fine. -

It's for editing menus, but following the complete guide will work for replacing the audio track. You'll only be demuxing the particular menu whose audio you're replacing. You can't do all the menus at one crack. You'll have to do each one separately. -
EDIT - I figured out the problem listed below. I used a program called SubRip (and some basic logic) to figure out which substream was which. I then went back to Muxman and remuxed the Vob, designating which sub stream was WS, LB and PS. I also had to designate the video as both WS and PS in order for all three subtitle display modes to activate below. And once I did that, I complied, spliced it all back together and PRESTO!!!
IT WORKED!
So, I am done. Much thanks to all who helped, especially manono for the directions and the guide .
I'm out.

OK, manono, I used your guide.
However, there was a problem.
There are 3 subtitle streams (20, 21, 22) for each cell with buttons. I think that's because it has buttons for WS, Letterbox and PS. In MuxMan it would say "Warning: Stream 1 has no modes Selected", etc. I thought I perhaps didn't have to pay attention to that. But when I got to the end, the button graphics (in other words: the sub pictures within the vob) aren't on target. They are shifted to the left a few inches.
How do I know which subtitle stream is WS, PS and Letterbox?
