    The video looks like slow motion and never will synch with audio. What software do you feel would work right? I have all the major codecs...updated my players but to no avail.

    Please provide MORE information.

    What is the video codec in the avi? h264/avc? divx,xvid? Identify with mediainfo or gspot.
    What is your computer hardware details? Playing high defination requires a fast cpu and graphic card.
    What software players or codecs have you tried? VLC Media Player?

    I have a Vaio from 2001. I guess that probably explains a lot regards the play back issues.
