Unknown file type.

Can any tell me how l can open up a file l want to download. When l want to download not just this file but many more similar files ,l click to download and a box come up saying "do you want to save this file" and two boxes save or cancel and says its a unknown file. l have downloaded these files before but just cannot open them.Why's this! and what can l do so l can open these files.

How can l do this. Like l have said when downloaded it just says unknown file and you cannot open it.Also when downloading such unknown files in the box it also says the risks of such unknown files.l have windows xp sp2 with firewall and anti-virus protection, could it be because of the protection l have on my computer.

Install Real alternative and then use Media Player Classic (which installs with it) to watch the movie.
