I need to hook my camcorder up straight into a digital projector.

I've a Canon GL2 with a firewire output and the projector has a RGB input.

Is there such thing as a Firewire to RGB convertor?

    Thanks,

  2. Does the projector have composite or S-video inputs? (i.e., a yellow RCA connection for composite)?

If so, you might as well use the GL2's analog outputs.

A FireWire (DV) to RGB dedicated converter will be rather expensive.

Even if the projector only has RGB inputs, it would be cheaper to get a composite-to-RGB or S-video-to-RGB converter.

I connect mine directly S-video to S-video. Looks great!

I also occasionally run my camcorder's firewire through my Toshiba RD-XS35 DVD recorder to the projector as a kind of ad hoc firewire to RGB converter, but since the camcorder's DV-AVI format is only 720x480, the difference is hardly noticeable.
