I'm looking for a program that allows me to capture video from my computer screen. Basically recording whatever is on the screen, like a screenshot — but a video instead of still photo. I've only managed to find one program like this (SnagIt), but it's limited to 15 frames per second, which makes it very choppy, and it's also too lossy for my tastes.
Ideally, I would like something where I can choose any codec/framerate (just like in capturing external analog video), but any suggestions would be welcome. It would also be nice if the program would capture audio along with the video...
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Camtasia by the same people as snagit? I'm fairly sure it does audio and it has an internal conversion feature that supports selected formats - even converts to a flash web video page with auto java-script. Not sure about the actual FPS. Costs a fair amount to purchase, but the demo version is not crippled.
