    What programs do I have to use in order to transfer DVD footage on my computer and convert the dvd files to MPEG files ? ?? ? Does DVD Fab do this?

    DVD to computer: DVDDecrypter (or ripit4me, if it's heavily encrypted/protected).
    DVD to MPG: vob2mpg

    As mentioned, VOB2MPEG if you just one one large MPEG from the DVD for editing. If you want the DVD format (VOBs/ IFOs, etc.) use DVD Decrypter or DVD Fab Decrypter. If it has the newest encryption, then RipIt4Me or DVD Fab Decrypter. They are all freeware, so try them all.
