    Don't convert back to AVI.
Use vob2mpg to get them to mpg. Then use some mpg editor like Womble mpeg VCR
    Reauthor.

    Thank for you faster replay.
I have seen you advice mpeg VCR to edit mpg files, is it like Tmpeg program?
Second question, are they any other tool for Vob/mpeg without using .net framework?
    Thank

ReJig can extract video (m2v) and audio (AC3/mp2/lpcm) from VOBs, but then you've got the troluble of multiplexing it back together as mpg again.
I don't understand this aversion/fear of using .net framework - It's a fundamental part of Windows. The reason it's not included in the OS is that XP was released before .net. Almost all modern programming languages need a runtime library.

Unfortunately, Windows is much better supported when it comes to stuff like this. But take a look at AviDemux - Very useful video app for Linux.

1: .net is NOT a required package ... you dont need to have it installed .

2: Linux may be limited in tools , but then again , it dosent get as bloated as windows with junk .

    -----------------------------------

    muscia

As per vob demuxing : Vobedit

Remuxing can be done with bbmpeg ... a small learning curve .
Open any small avi containg both streams (video / audio)
Best is both have no compression , this way bbmpeg will open it without issue
Once up and running , rename to file in upper right hand corner .
Hit start , in settings window ...

Under one of the several tabs is where you input the video and audio streams .
Under another is encoders and muxers ... disable both encoders .
    Let it rip

Error will occur if stream lengths are mismatched or wrong type (convert ac3 to mp2 beforehand)

The site for bbmpeg also has bbtools.zip , contains command line muxer's .

    ----------------------

You want the works for linux ... well check this out :

1: Yes, to run applications built with MS VisualStudio > 6.0. Net will be part of all future (until it's replaced) MS OS.
2: I love linux too, but when it comes to video related tools, it's sadly limited.

Womble also has MPEG Video Wizard which is a very good MPEG and VOB editor. I do not know if it uses .NET. In addition Ulead VideoStudio can also imports and edits VOB files.

    Good luck

Heila, thank for your answer, but I have tried mpeg-vcr and I dont find I can save vob files, it saves only in mpeg1 or 2.
Are there any other programs I can edit vob files?

    thank

Are you going to make a new dvd from the vob? Then you can use any mpeg2 editor. Save as mpeg2 and then reauthor/make a new DVD from the mpg file using any DVD Authoring tool. The quality wont be affected.
