I've found a way of getting around the annoying problem of having to hold down the fast forward/rewind button for anyone with a Philips DVD recorder using a One For All universal remote control.
The buttons can be re-programmed as follow :-
Press the device key
Press and hold SETUP or MAGIC (wait for two blinks)
Enter 9-9-4 (wait for two blinks)
Press SETUP or MAGIC (don't hold it)
Enter the 3 digit code (see below)
Press the button to be assigned (ie, fast forward or rewind)
That's should be it.
The 3 digit code for fast forward is 083 and the code for rewind is 075.
You should now be able to fast forward/rewind by pressing the buttons once only (press again to increase the FF/REW speed).
I had to program the record button on my RC as it wasn't active after putting in the device code for Philips DVD players.
This is done in the same way as above and the 3 digit code is 123.
If anyone needs it, the device code for Philips is 0539 (I use this for my DVDR75) and you need to set your recorders remote for "DVD player" in the system menu.
More button codes here :- http://www.hifi-remote.com/cgi-bin2/ueic.cgi?DVD_0539
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

Mine's a One For All 4 Digital URC 7544 :-
www.oneforall.co.uk/english/products/urc/URC-7541.htm
I believe these codes are fairly generic though and should apply to most One For All models. -
Here's some more 3 digit codes for the DVDR75 if anyone needs them.
You can find a code for every button on all your original remotes using these instructions :- http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/advanced.shtml
123 record
083 FF
075 rew
058 timer
030 system
110 record mode
008 clear
221 select
032 eject
176 ok
022 return -
I know this is an old thread, but I am trying to program a OFA URC6131 to use with dvdr75. The only button I can't find code for is the monitor button. Anyone know what the code is?
