Finalizing, Locking or Closing a DVD

I have several DVD+RWs that are partially full and my Recorder "Go Video R6640 gave up its ghost. Do I have to buy another of the same brand recorder to close these DVDs, or can they be finalized by another machine that will record on the same type disks? Such at Panasonic?

You could use software to get a DVD playable in most PCs and stand alones.
1. Isobuster Pro for extracting the mpegs
2. Ifoedit for the Ifo & Bup files
