    Hi all,

I am running MythTV (just managed to get it working so I'm still a newbie at it) and I can watch TV etc. However, I'm thinking I have a signal problem from my video card to my TV.

    This is the setup:

Computer (S-Video plug) ---->converter (SVideo to RCA)---->TV (RCA plug) My TV is a Sony Trinitron that doesn't have an svideo input.

I get colour, the image looks sharp however I get this constant flickering. Like black flickers. It seems to sync to my hard drive working as it records or plays TV. Is it possible that my hard drive or cabling is the problem?

    Any help would be awesome!

    Thanks

Check you video refresh rate. You may need to lower it to 60hz.

Refresh is set to 60hz..I've confirmed that it does correspond with my hard drive reading and writing. If that is the case how do I shield the drive from my pvr150?

I wouldn't expect HD reading and writing to cause "flickering" on your display, at least not the type of interference you are referring to.

Do you have buffering enabled? I used to have similar issues with my AIW card. If I had buffering enabled (feature used to pause/rewind "LIVE" TV), the HD was constantly thrashing which would cause the screen to "flicker".

If that is the case, then your choices are to disable it, or move the "buffer" to a seperate drive and/or defrag the drive it is buffering to.
