I have an .mpg file that is about 800M in size. In Windows Media Player, it plays fine, and shows a correct length of 1:23x, about an hour and a half.
In Nero ShowTime, it only shows as a 24 minute file. This also happens in NeroVision when I try to burn it to a DVD.
I tried using a shareware program to convert the file to AVI, hoping that Nero would read the AVI file correctly. However, the shareware program I used only converted the 24 minutes that Nero already could see.
Since the file plays correctly in Windows Media Player, I am thinking there should be some way to make Nero play and/or see it correctly.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I would try using TMPGEnc to reencode the file. That should correct any errors

Thanks for the reply, Capmaster. I tried what you suggested, and I now have a video file, (m2v), and an audio file, (wav). It appears to have done the entire file, so I seem to be past that hurdle. Now, how do I combine these video/audio files to burn to a DVD? I can get the video into Nero Vision, but not the audio.

You used the wrong settings in TMPGEnc. On the top window in the lower right, you can select what type of streams you want. Select "System Audio + Video" and you should get .mpg as the output file

Then you can just use an authoring app to generate your DVD files.
