  1. Hello-
I've been using mkv2vob for some time to convert mkv to mpg. I am able to play the mkv file via PS3 Media Server and my PS3, but I'm having a buffering issue with PS3 Media Server. It will last maybe 5-10 minutes before the buffer status is Empty and the video starts to skip.

Converting it to mpg via mkv2vob cleared up that issue until recently. I was able to play them on my PS3 without issue until just recently. After muxing, I attempt to play the file in PS3 and it will not play. There is no time on the file when I play it. It shows all zeros (0'00:00) and will not play. I've also used mkvmerge (set compression to none) on the mkv file first and tried to converg with mkv2vob after. I'm still having the same issue.

Just wondering if there is a quick fix for this. If not, how do I stop the PS3 Media Server buffer to stay full? I am wired to both my laptop and PS3. I've read that wireless causes this issue, but I am wired. And I'm watching mostly 720p, not 1080p.

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

This is not any blu-ray ripping. Moving you.

Can't the ps3 media server play the mkv directly?

  3. Thanks for the reply. Yes it will play, but the buffer empties after 5-10 minutes, then the movie starts to skip, which is why I converted it to mpg. It doesn't buffer at all as an mpg.
