the format its saving it in is MPG (mpeg 2 I believe for dvd).

You can use VirtualDubMod - it accepts MPG files, you can select bits to be removed, and can use any installed codec to output to AVI.

It's free, and there's plenty of guides explaining how to do what you need to do.There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

I can't see how you can set multiple ranges, so it looks like - unless anyone knows how to do it differently - you'll have to set your start frame, end frame and Del (delete) to remove the unwanted frames - and repeat... Pretty much. One at a time is how virtualdub does it. For commercials it isn't that bad. For real editing it's horrible. Read my blog here.

ok ive figured it out, but virtual dub mod doesnt allow any sort of compression of the audio. I'm getting AC3, must I use dgindex and then throw it into vfapi and then into regular virtual dub and do all the work on that?

OR is there a way to compress the audio in virtualdubmod ?

These will not convert the file to avi as was originally requested.Originally Posted by kamaleon"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa
