cannot play vcd in standalone dvd player

hi,
i have a vcd that plays fine on my computer but fails to play on my dvd 530 pioneer player. my pioneer plays every cdr i put in it and cd rw. but it just does not play this film when i press play the dvd says its playing but i just get the same blue background. i have tried reburning with nero, the vcd to other cdr but it still does not play in my dvd player. all my other vcds still play fine except for this one. anyhelp on how i can make this vcd play would be really appreciated.

Hi Stuart,

Is that a standard VCD ? as in, uses full standard VCD settings ? and how about the media, is it the same one you've used on all other playable VCD's before ?

i have managed to fix the vcd i was having trouble with, it was not in the dat format, so i converted to dat and then to mpeg and burned on nero and it now works fine, i hope this helps any1 else with the same problem.
