I've been getting system hangs whenever I attempted to launch Hauppauge WinTV GO in overlay / primary mode. DIBDraw mode seems to be ok but still unstable at times. I've tried many methods to get it resolve, like switching PCI slots, reformat HDD, new drivers etc... so much so that I'm thinking of getting rid of this card n get the Pinnacle one instead. But I'm beginning to suspect it's my Abit Siluro GeForce2 MX card that is giving problems instead, rather than the m/b since my previous ALI chipset m/b (Asus P5AB) is ok. Any Geforce users out there to confirm this?
My system :-
AMD Duron 750@750
Iwill KD266 m/b
TwinMos 128Mb ram
Abit GeForce2 MX 32Mb
Hauppauge WinTV GO FM
IBM 10.3 GB HDD

Have you tried the WDM Drivers instead of the VFW Drivers?
I have an NVidia GeForce2 MX Video Card and I am having no trouble with the WinTV card.
Check the Hauppauge site. New VFW and WDM Drivers came out Wednesday, July 25th (new apps also came out).
You might want to check Hauppauge support to see if there is an issue with AMD Processors. I know AMD is cheaper and at times better than Intel in some situations, but, I have found that Multimedia is not their strong point.
Good Luck!

I've never used the WDM Drivers but I do know that VirtualDub can Capture using the WDM Drivers. As for performance... give it a try and let me know.
