    Hi,

I have downloaded many programs as you have stated, such as WM Recorder etc. trying to download these streaming clips.

But I am unable to find a direct link to the file and nothing i try seems to work. I was wondering whether someone could have a look at the website for me to see whether it is possible to record the streaming media.

The clips are of Sydney Symphony Orchestra concerts of this year.

    http://sydneysymphony.bigpondmusic.com/

Click one of the clips and see whether it is possible to capture......i have tried for so long to do it but I just can't. Perhaps it has been encrypted to prevent capturing?

    Cheers-

    Lachlan

That's not the address. Right-click properties in Firefiox gives this as the address

    mms://wmt.streaming.telstra.com/wh_telstr16/OnDemand/BPCulture/SSO/2006/SydneySymphonyOrchestra160206Part1of2.wmv?wmcache= 0

Note the mms:// not http:// I loaded this into SDP and it is downloading as I type.

It is also rather large, and because it is held by Bigpond, incredibly slow.

I tried with SDP and this came up:

    > Connecting...
    > Resolving DNS IP address, please wait...
    > TTCP: socket connect failed: 10061

    What does that mean?

    I put the link

    mms://wmt.streaming.telstra.com/wh_telstr16/OnDemand/BPCulture/SSO/2006/SydneySymphonyOrchestra160206Part1of2.wmv?wmcache= 0

into the URL bar - then i hit open - entered same link -

Then hit GO and it came up with that error

What should my proxy settings be?

    Searching . . . searching . . . nope. Crystal ball doesn't work at this distance.

Simplest place to start is to go Setup -> Setup Options, then click on the Proxy tab. There you can press the Load Proxy Settings from IE button and see what happens. If you use Firefox you will have to look in the connections section of the Option dialogue for the proxy settings you have in place.

If you have a firewall, you may have to allow SDP access to the internet.

/edit : I might also add that now that it is downloaded, it is disappointing to find the audio is 48kbps Mono. A let down indeed for a classical music stream
