  1. I looked through the guides, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I want to take a DVD9 and bring it to DVD5. I want to take out the extras, and edit the menus. Is there any way I can do this? I would prefer using dvd-lab pro because I am familiar with that program if it is not possible I am alright with that.
    The line below is true.
    The line above is false.

Which line is true and which is false?

  2. Hi,

Take a look at DVDREMAKE PRO, this will do excatly what you want it to.
I use it to take out all the extras in a movie and just leave the menu.
You can also hide the button functions on the menus so that the 'Play Movie' button id the only one that works.

You could also take a look at VOBBLANKER but this is not so easy to use.

Take a look in the tools section and you can read about these tools and also check out the guides for these tools.

    Good Luck.

If you are happy to create your won menus in DLP, then it is pretty easy. Use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode, select just the main title VOBs, select the Stream Processing tab and Click on the video streams and click Demux, then click on the Audio streams and click Demux. You will get elementary streams ready for authoring in DLP.

There is no simple way to retain the menus and edit them in DLP.

    Dr3amKilla,

I don't see any way you could use DvdLab Pro to do what you want.

For removing the extras, notices, etc. VobBlanker is freeware and works very well. This guide is a good primer on using VobBlanker to do what you want.

By "edit the menus" I assume you want to edit the way the menu works. For that you can use the Menu Editor in PgcEdit (also freeware).

Removing the extras, warnings, etc. will reduce the size of the original, but probably not get it down to dvd-5 size. To do that you'll need DvdShrink (freeware).

Lastly, you might want to take a look at ImgBurn to burn the files to a disk. It's freeware and is the best burning program I know of, free or otherwise. You may also find it helpful to keep a copy of the original dvd file structure someplace, and work with a copy. That way, if you make a mistake while you're learning, you have the original to fall back on.

So you don't get confused, dvdremake is not free, and can only do part of what you're trying to do. Using the programs I mentioned, you can do everything you want, keep as much quality as is possible, and leave your money in your wallet.

I'll check in on this thread from time to time to see if you have any problems or questions.
