Widescreen yes but letterboxed in a 4:3 matte.

    Good Question.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  4. it stretched it on mine both ways, both horizontally(16:9),and vertically(more anamorphic),and it looks great on my widescreen telly now, rather than squashed and stretched.

You could have just set the tv to zoom in.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

I still have the originals on VHS. I like the altered versions better.

  9. I have to say, it's not the CGI I hate, it's the altered dialoge and added stuff.

ANH: Greedo shooting first and the added jaba sceen. Greedo shooting first changes "Han" the caracter. It's not the fact that it was added in... it CHANGES the caracter. The jabba scene is ok but when Han steps on his tail... god that looks horrible.

ESB: Again the CGI like in cloud city, looks great, love it but why does the voice of Boba Fett have to be altered. I realize he's an exact replaca of Jango but woudn't the helmet ( the helmet in my opinion being old and worn and or new) alter his voice anyway so he woudn't sound like Jango anyway.

RTJ: Love the new song at Jabba's palace. Hated the old one. Love the new ending song. I get why Anykin's ghost is changed, ok with that. My only problem (again with Han) his dialoge is changed. When Han is helping Lando in the pit, he now says "I can see better now" instead of "it's alright trust me". Again, this changes the caracter.

What also bothers me is, acording to Lowery the guy who transfered the trilogy to digital storage, as reported in S&V magazine, he stated that when he went to transfer ANH to 4000K digital there was a lot of sand in the negative, that means he worked from the original film that collected sand particals from the desert where it was shot, seems to me that means the original version is sitting on a server somewhere.

    Im with you.
I have nothing against newer, better CGIs in any version.
I just hate what Lucas is trying to do with Han Solo's character. We all liked it better when he was oh-so-selfish prick rather than this new "Im a nice guy" transformation
Lucas should retire and go fishing or somethin, just not touch it anymore, or in next updated version of original trilogy Han Solo will have halo over his head :barf:

Lucas is doing smart thing. SW is available for sale only for short period of time every 5 years or so.
Every SW fan will buy whatever he sells
I remember last time I bought original trilogy was I believe in 1999 or 2000 on vhs.
This is good version. I like original theatrical version which reminds me about my childhood.
I am not a very big fan of those altered versions. They should stay original maybe remastered to 5.1 and thats all.
moved to another forum, nobody likes me here...
