  1. Hi tried to make a vcd from an mpg file using easy cd creator platinum, but is said that it wouldn't work on a vcd player (which it doesn't) unless I use an mpeg encoder ??????

  2. In order for an MPG file to be compatible with VCD format, it must have the specific settings of video and audio in order to be playable on a DVD Player:

    for NTSC:
    Video - 352x240 @ 1150kbps
Frame Rate - 29.976 or 23.976 for NTSC Film

    for PAL:
    Video - 352x240 @ 1150kbps
    Frame Rate - 25 fps

    For ALL:
    Audio - 16bit, 44.1khz, Stereo @ 224kbps

  6. I apologise Orion that you had to witness it.
As for your question, XingMPEG is not good when it comes to non standard files, but I thought you wanted to encode ? and you said you got the decoder version.

  7. Mmmm now I'm totally confused, Sorry I meant to say that I had the encoder...........

I want to simply just transfer my mpg files that I have over to vcd so that they can be played iether on a vcd player or dvd player.

I've got Adaptect easy cd creator that allows you to make vcd's but when I try it says that I need an mpeg decoder for this to work ??

    I don't know, I'm a total novice

No need to apologies for anything.

    cheers
