  1. I am here in the USA and want to give something to someone in Israel. What can Israel play on their PC - mpeg or avi or real format or quicktime movies. Sounds stupid but please let me know if it is alright for me to burn a CD with mpeg (home) movies and give to my friend in Israel. I prefer mpeg1 format. Thanks for all your help.

well unless your friend is usin some sort of "alternate " operating system (that is other than ms windows) - MPEG 1 videos should play in his computer. mpeg1 videos are most likely to play in a computer than avi's because with AVI's you have to make sure your friend has "codecs" to play em'. Mpeg one software is in win 98/ME/2000/XP. Just play it in windows media player.

  4. As someone from Israel, I can tell you that everything you do will work without problems here, PC's are the same, and 80% of all PC's use either 98 or 2000, and of course we also have the "freaks" who use XP

also, mpeg 1 and mpeg 2 playback is a common thing. Linux and beos can handle it too.
