  1. I have a wmv hd movie with english and german soundtracks. When played on the pc the soundtacks are selectable but when played back on my xbox 360 via MCE I'm stuck with the german soundtrack and seemingly no way to switch to the english track. Is there a program I can use to strip the german track leaving just the english?. Windows media encoder won't touch it, tmpgenc express refuses to open it.

    Any help appreciated.

    thanks in advance

    Windows Media Utilities: Stream Editor

Create a new file with the video & only 1 audio stream, or see what happens when you set the English as the 1st audio stream. Check the bitrates, because there may be some priority given to higher bitrate ones (or lower?).

  4. oops, sorry, found it. It's already installed with media encoder. Can't use it though, something about a licence for the movie. Is there a way past this?

To clarify cornocupia's answer a little - that means it has drm or digital rights management. It restricts what you can and can't do with that particular file. Usually you are restricted to viewing it on only authorized computers and you usually can't change the format or adjust various settings. It comes as it is and you're basically stuck that way. Breaking that drm is a no go and asking for cracking software is against forum rules here so just accept that you can't change that particular file. Sorry but that's the way it is.
