Help Please! Max Bitrate for SVCD? Is 4000 possible?

In the DVD Player reviews on this site. Here is what one reviewer said:

My question is can you use a bitrate of 4000, and if so how do I do it?

BTW...

The DVD Player was a RCA RC5240P, which I just purchased a few days ago.

Short answer: No, SVCD do not allow that high bitrates.

You can't make an SVCD with a bitrate of 4000, but you can make an SVCD

try a xsvcd just for kicks..

All you have to do is load the SVCD template with TMPGEnc and then hit load again, go to the "Extra" folder and open the unloack setting. Go to settings and you can up the bitrate to 4000 (or above, should you want to). Then you can burn it using your preferred program.

A few questions though...

1. After capturing, what codec should I save it in? I normally use Divx, but seem to have a sync problem with TMPG, even if I extract the wav file first.

2. After I have the file saved in XSVCD format. When I try to burn in Nero, it will tell me that its not SVCD compliant. Do I just tell it to ignore and burn anyway?

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!

I used Ulead's VideoStudio 5 and saved it in MPEG2 with a frame rate of 4000. Then went to Nero and used the SVCD Template and turned off 'Create standard compliant CD'. (XSVCD)

Note: I tried using the VCD template like a guide on this site said to. But it would never play in the DVD Player. This is why I used the SVCD Template in Nero.

When I stuck it in My RCA 5240P DVD Plaer, it worked!! The Video was PERFECT! Granted with this high of a bit rate, you wont fit more than 20min or so. However, I think it's worth it!
