  1. guys,

i have here a major problem with mainconcept encoder (again). every divx, xvid or avi i convert into mpg2 (for dvd) gets an incorrect audio file. the sound isnt synch and sounds weird. i uninstalled mpg encoder (version 1.5) and reinstalled it with deleting all a/v codecs with codec sniper bevore. but again the same problem again. i already deleted all ither mpg encoders i had on my computer (except procoder), but somehow i can fix the prob.

here is the link to a sample file i get when i encode via mainconcept:

    thx!

Always separate audio from AVI before you convert to mpg..Use Virtualdubmod for this job..

Encode the AVI to Mpv (elementary video only) then you can put it into any DVD authoring software..Besides, if you put MPG into DVD authoring software, the software will demux it to separate audio and video file, its just a waste of time and HDD space converting to MPG..
Do you know why people mostly use Mac in their office?
Because a lot of stress can lead people to jump off the "Windows".

  3. well... of course i encode all streams seperatly and import them into encore or dvdlab pro. but that doesnt solve my problem. the audio stream is still defect.

  4. So you are encoding the sound also with mainconcept? What if you encode the sound with separate audio encoder?

what audio format you have? MP2? AC3? MPA? WAV? Dont encode audio with mainconcept..Use another audio encoder..

  6. the XVID file has AC3 and gspot shows me that there a 2 audio AC3 codecs installed.
so everything should work- which it doesn't.

  7. If the sound is ac3 file then you should not reencode it.. You can use it directly for authoring the DVD
