I created a DVD video (with authored folders) from a DivX file. The DVD playback skips a few frames about ever 1.5 seconds when I use my standalone and Apple's DVD player. The DVD and the .mpg file that results from the conversion plays back fine in VLC.
Any ideas on how to author a compliant file smoothly?
Thanks,
Plex

Is this DivX and DVD NTSC Film framerate (23.976 fps)? Possibly you need to add a 3:2 pulldown, so to tell the player how to playback to NTSC (29.97 fps) devices (tv), without actually changing the framerate.
- For encoding to DVD mpeg2enc, there is a Set 3:2 checkbox in the Options tab.
- For encoding to DVD ffmpeg, there is no such checkbox, so you have to use the Pull tool on the m2v file, and then mux.
- If you don't have the m2v file anymore, you could demux, use the Pull tool, and mux again.
