Help with dvd shrink

I have been using dvd shrink for awhile. I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstalled dvd shrink and dvd decrypter. Now when I went to go backup my dvd its only giving me an option to burn at a maximum speed of 2.4x. Prior to my reformat I was able to burn 8x. I remember I had to change settings and dma's and what not but I cant remember all I did cause it was so long ago. The type of burner I have is the Lite on sohw 1673s. Any and all information you can give me will be so greatly appreciated and if you can write it in simple step by step things I need to do will be awesome. Thank you all so much for your help in this matter

Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage. Click on Device Manager, then expand the IDE branch. Double-click the Primary and Seconday channels and make sure they aren't in PIO mode.

In the end however, my problem was resolved when I replaced a crappy IBM drive on the primary channel with a bigger Seagate. Ever since then, the burner on my secondary IDE channel has discovered correctly every time.

Ive checked my device settings in device manager and all are set to dma mode and still its only giving me the option to burn in 2.4x....anything else I can do???

The only other thing that comes to mind is that the firmware version you have doesn't support burning the media you are using at a faster speed.

what disc are you trying to burn to

is it a dvd-rw

Im using dvd-r's either memorex or sonys whichever I can get on sale. I havent had a problem with burning to these discs before and I went to the lite on website and downloaded and installed the firmware. Im at a loss....is there anything else

by the way the firmware version I got was the latest one available from the lite on website

by the way should it be set to a specific dma. My burner (which is primary) is showing that device 0 is at ultra dma mode 6 and device 1 is showing at ultra dma mode 5 and my dvd rom (which is my secondary) is showing at device 0 ultra dma mode 4 and at device 1 its showing at ultra dma mode 2....dont know if this information helps

My HDDs run UDMA mode 5, the burner (NEC2500A) runs UDMA Mode 2 and burns faster than 2.4x

I can't see anything in the DVD Decrypter settings to influence burn speed, and Shrink doesn't let you set anything if you use Decrypter.

I am out of ideas at the moment.

aha I found the fis.....uninstalled and reinstalled shrink (decrypter should be installed before shrink) then within decrypter under iso write mode changed the write speed to 16x and now within shrink I am able to burn at a maximum of 16X thanks for all your help
