Decrypter not always shows media Id ?

I put Decrypter on someones computer, that has a dvd player, but not a burner, to illustrate a point about media codes, but the media code does not show on any media I placed in it. Why is that ?

Decrypter shows the media code when you select 'Mode - ISO - Write W'. Then it looks for a DVD or CD writer. Since the computer in question doesn't have a writer, Decrypter won't show you anything about the disk that's not in the writer that's not in the computer.

I believe that (at least part) of the information on the disk is written in an area that a DVD writer can access but a DVD ROM can't.

yes, but it shows all the usual info, only the media id it does not show.

download DVDINFO PRO or DVD IDENTIFIER to find the MEDIA CODES.
