Have gone through all the problems with out of sync audio, purple pictures and used various tricks picked up here to solve problems but always ended up with VCDs that freeze up from time to time during play on my Philips 762 standalone.
Read a suggestion on this forum and downloaded TMPGEnc version 12a from a website that still has it available (whoever posted that link can gladly do it again) and despite a rather slow loading process and a longer encoding time (about 2½ time real time on my 800Mhz) I finally get VCDs that play all the way through without freezing even though the quality is a little grainier than before.
Just thought I'd tell you all!
