  1. Intel DG965whmkr (you can dig up the specs if ya want)
Intel Q6600 2.4ghz Quad (stock Intel Fan)
Intel onboard X3000 Max Memory at 384mb (I do have a ATI X800gt 256mb just not installed)
    Corsiar DDR2 4 x 1Gb 800mhz (this MB must have 5-5-5 x 1.8v mem)
    Seagate SATA 3 x 500gb 16mb cache in Intel's RAID5
    NEC 3540 x 2 (liggy's firmware)
NEC Floppy Drive (I'm old school)
Antec NSK4480 + 80mm front fan (read comments abvout the case)

The case was the hardest choice of all. I really liked the Lain Li, but this on was at BB and I had a $200 gift card. What I read about it and saw in the pics was good. Got it home and look and said shit! can my motherboard fit. Yeah it fits, but I can't use the 3 5.25 drive bay. The case needs to be about 5in deeper. All the drives extend way out. The 3rd 5.25 bay can't have a DVD burner because it will hit my RAM. Forget about having 3 HDDs if you have a monster video card too. I added the front 80mm fan because I had one laying around. The rear 120mm fan has 3 speeds and in medium it's pretty darn quite.

Vista Base Line was 5.9 across the board except for the video card. Both ratings for it were 4.6
Ghosted the Vista install and Installed XP
As of this post, I'll keep the XP install.

Seems to be running cool...I'll post temps later

Is that a mid tower style? How deep is the case you had problems with. My current P4 case is 18 1/2 " deep and I was planning on getting the same size Mid tower when I buy a new Mboard.

I got a new full size at/atx compatible case a few years ago and only used it a short time but it needs a new atx PS. It measures the same as yours in depth but it's a bigger case with six large slots above the board location (not counting the racks below). If yours fit then it should be easier for me because of the shape. Hmmm maybe I should look at that again before buying another case.

Here's what mine is for vista premium:

I have a amd 64 3800 2.4ghz with 1gig ddr2 ram. I upgraded to a nvidia 8400 and just bought a soundblaster audigy se 7.1 sound card. I think that is pretty good for a modified stock hp desktop.

My future upgrades will be a widescreen monitor - which won't show up in the ratings unfortunately. And I would like more ram but i'd more than likely buy a newer nvidia - mine is currently 256 with system memory allocated to 512mb for gaming. I'd probably shop ebay sometime in a few months for a 512mb dedicated graphics card.

Oh and more harddrive space too - I'm running low though I do have a usb harddrive but I don't think that would do too well for gaming. Or do they?
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    This is what I'm getting with Vista on a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H MB. AM2 X2 5200+, 2GB DDR2-800 RAM.

That's a Micro-ATX MB, no added cards. It's my HTPC, so I use the video out for a projector.
