  1. I just used TMPEnc to encode my .Avi file of "Saving Private Ryan" into an Mpeg file so that I can Burn it as a VCD using my Nero 5.5 Burning Software. Can I fit a 1,660 KB file onto (2) 80 Minute CD-R's or will I have to use (3) CD-R's (Really rather fit it on two). I understand that I can use TMPEnc to split the file in two but will Nero 5.5 gripe if I try to squeeze this onto 2 disks? What is the best procedeure to do this?
    -Thanks-

  2. SPR (my DVD anyway) is 2 hr 49 min (169 min), so it'd be kind of tight if you use the VCD standard 1150/224 spec. The opening scene in the cemetery and the music that plays during the end credits are just too good to cut to save a few minutes. As a non-compliant (X)VCD, with a slightly lower bitrate for the video and/or audio, it shouldn't be too hard to get it onto 2 CDs, although you'll probably be cutting the movie mid-scene, and it might be a combat scene (not a good time for disc change, mood-wise).

    Good luck on this one!
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. I not much for fiddling with the settings & I have Plenty of CD-R's so I may just cut it up into (3) CD-R's. Will TMPEnc allow me to make 3 Cuts & what will it call each cut? Part 1,2,3? I guess the thierd CD-R will be pretty short but no I don't want to cut the Cemetary scene or the end credits, well I might cut a little of the end credits if I could fit on 2 CD-R's but it sounds like I would have to chop a lot to do that. Has anybody chopped a movie onto 3 disks? Is it a pain to do?
    -Thanks-

P.S. - Where in TMPEnc do I go to perform this chopping procedure?
    What steps do I use?

  4. just goto file..then mpeg tools

then select last option to the left cut/merge

add the mpeg then highlight the mpeg then edit

(u should have already calculated your movie time divided by 3)

ok after u select edit then select the part of the movie to cut..

u have to mark the begin and the end so it will know where to cut (i think the markings are "{" for the start and "}" for the end , i dont have tmpg open right now so i can be exact)

repeat 2 otha times until u get 3 parts
