  1. Been using this for several years now without any problems-until now.

I've got several MPEG1 DVD compliant files I want to author to DVD- some are PAL, some are NTSC. As more are PAL, I took the option to 'patch' the NTSC files.

I did what I always do- open DVD patcher-change to 25fps and 288 vertical size, open TMPGenc DVD Author and put the 'patched' file into a new track, then go back and re-patch back to the files original properties.

I've done that for the three NTSC files I wanted to add, and then completed the authoring process.

It authored fine, but when I come to check it out before burning, the files i've patched cut off before the end. For instance 2 of the files are about 19 minutes long yet the authored versions are only 15 minutes or so long.

I had saved the TMPGenc DVD Author project so re-opened it to check and the footage in there is showing the correct length, so it's something that is occurring during the authoring process.

I'm assuming this is something to do with DVD Patcher, but has anyone got any idea what it is and how I get around it?

    Many thanks

If it broke all of a sudden, first thing I'd do is check out what changed -- could be having other prob as well from newly installed software etc...

Second, you might try a couple of the other prog that will do the same as patcher. OR try and repair the authored video -- if you can demux and get it working, remux back in. OR, create vobs with muxman using original video, then replace those in authored DVD using vob vlanker.

  3. No- no other software installed, or hardware changes..t's strange- I've just patched an MPEG2 file and trhat worked fine, I've seen some things say DVD Patcher doesn't work on anythinf but MPEG2, but others suggest it works on MPEG1 as well..

That's weird .... I was always of the belief that you needed to patch your source files, then output from TDA, then patch the VOBs back to what they should be. At least that's what the DVD Patcher guide says, anyways ....
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. I've always changed the MPEG back after TDA has accepted it. I know that the instructions I read at the time said that, and I've not run into this problem before..oh wel!!
