Does anyone know of any codecs which don't have a resolution limit, reasonable file size and a good quality picture? I’ve been using Indeo 5.1, but this causes problems when you try to re-encode the file. Any suggestions?

The MPEG4 codecs such as MS MPEG4, XVID, DIVX, etc. with decent bitrate should be quite good.

Few have resolutions limits, however once you start to get above HD res, it becomes impractical to play or expect reasonable file sizes.

What sort of resolution are you after ?
What sort of file size do you expect ?
