I have installed Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 and am editing my first video in this program. However, when I am trying to create text in the film (putting the text in videotrack 2 and the film in track 1), the text track is covering the film track. I want the text to be shown in the film track and just cover the part of the film where the text is shown.

    Hi Mållgan,

I use Premiere Pro 1.5, so it may differ from Premiere Elements. Howeber, I would suspect (hope) that the basics are the same.

In Premiere Pro, it is possible to create "Titles" - this is text on a transparent background. When used on the timeline (in a track above video, as you're doing - correctly) then only the text will show.

How are you creating your text? However you're doing it, see if it's possible to have a transparent background. If not, pick a colour like black, blue or green and then you can ignore this in Premiere (Pro at least) by keying (matte) it out.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
