Mustek PVRR-H140

I have a Mustek PVR H140 which is a muktimedia centre the link below is the amazon page for it:

I cannot get videos on it though. The file converter which is supplied with it converts .avi files to .asf . The file converter does not work so I will have to do something else. I have tried loads of free converters on the internet but I can't find one which converts to .asf (and works).

Is there anything I could do?

Is there any software I could download which I could install on the PVR H140 which would play .avi or something?
